With the "Gesamtverzeichnis deutscher Lokomotiven" the author started together with Oskar Pieper a first trial to present the German locomotive history with focus on locomotive statistics. Due to different problems the project became stagnant after the second volume, but now there is a new start with the "Deutschen Gesellschaft für Eisenbahngeschichte e.V." as publisher. The first volume covers classes 01 to 45 of German state railways - for each class there is a short text and at least one photo, before details on the life of each single locomotive is given.
